Care Instructions

Thoughtful objects deserve thoughtful care. Many of the items we carry are bespoke, vintage, or crafted from natural materials—and preserving their beauty means treating them with a gentle hand and a little extra attention.

Below you'll find care instructions for our most common products. If you’re unsure about how to care for a specific piece, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to help.

Napkins & Kitchen Towels

  • Wash in cold water with mild detergent
  • Avoid bleach and fabric softeners
  • Hang to dry or lay flat to preserve shape and texture
  • Iron on low if desired

Pillows

  • Dry clean only
  • Spot clean with a mild soap and water for small stains
  • Avoid machine washing, as it may distort the fabric or filling

Glassware

  • Handwash only with warm water and a gentle soap
  • Avoid using abrasive sponges or harsh detergents
  • Dry immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water spots
  • Not recommended for dishwashers or microwaves

Pottery

  • Handwash with mild soap and warm water, dry thoroughly
  • Unglazed (matte) pottery should only be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth, no soaps or other cleaners
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g., from cold water to a hot oven) to prevent cracking
  • Not all pottery is oven- or microwave-safe—check product notes or ask us if you're unsure
  • Do not soak handmade or vintage pottery for long periods

Silver Flatware

  • Handwash with a non-citrus, non-abrasive detergent
  • Dry thoroughly to prevent spotting or tarnish
  • Polish occasionally with a silver cloth or cleaner to maintain shine
  • Store in a dry place, ideally wrapped in a soft cloth

Wood Utensils & Boards

  • Handwash only—never soak or put in the dishwasher
  • Dry immediately after washing
  • Oil regularly with food-safe mineral oil or beeswax to prevent cracking and drying out
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to heat or moisture

Furniture

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth
  • Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed—avoid excess water
  • Use coasters and trivets to prevent heat and water damage
  • For vintage or finished wood, apply a high-quality furniture wax or oil a few times a year
  • Avoid direct sunlight to preserve colour and finish
